How to Play Soul Pop
A cloud of restless souls hangs over the graveyard, packed together in a honeycomb of glowing orbs. Down below, an old lantern holds the next soul, ready to launch. Aim it, let go, and the soul flies up, bouncing off the side walls until it touches the cluster and settles into place.
Join three or more souls of the same colour and the whole group bursts. Any souls that were only hanging on by that group lose their grip and tumble away for double points. Every colour also carries its own small symbol, so the board stays readable for players who find some colours hard to tell apart.
Shots that pop nothing are counted by the Drop in number at the top. When it reaches zero, the entire cluster creeps one row closer to the ground. If a soul ever settles on the glowing line near the lantern, the souls break through and the run is over.
Controls
Touch
- Put your finger on the board and drag to aim. A dotted guide shows the path, including bounces. Lift your finger to fire.
- Tap the small spare orb beside the lantern to swap it with the loaded one.
Mouse
- Point where you want the soul to go and click to fire. Click the spare orb to swap.
Keyboard
- Left and Right arrows turn the lantern, Space fires and the Down arrow swaps the two souls.
- P or Escape pauses, and M switches the sound off or back on.
Tips and Tricks
- Bank shots off the walls to reach pockets that a straight line cannot.
- Look for souls that hold up a big hanging bunch. Popping the anchor drops everything below it for 20 points each.
- Use the swap. If the loaded colour has nowhere useful to go, the spare one often does.
- Watch the Drop in counter. When it is down to one, make a shot that pops something to stop the creep.
- Clearing every soul from the board earns a 500 point bonus and brings in a fresh cluster.
About the Game
Soul Pop is a moody spin on the classic bubble shooter. The orbs glow against a dark night sky, the pops chime a little higher as groups get bigger, and the creeping cluster keeps steady pressure on you without ever rushing your aim. It works on phones in portrait and on computers with a mouse or keys.
The board starts with four colours. A fifth joins once you pass 1,500 points, and the cluster moves down more often as the score climbs, from every eight missed shots to every four. Your top score stays in this browser, and the leaderboard beside the game lists the ten best runs from everyone.

How many souls do I need to match?

Yes. Each colour of soul has its own shape drawn inside it, so you can match by symbol instead of colour.
