Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This policy explains what information Reaper Man collects when you use reaperman.com, including the music pages, the Reaper Man Arcade, our merch store, and, when it launches, our skateboard company. It also explains how we use that information and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little, we don't sell it, and we don't use advertising trackers.
1. Who We Are
Reaper Man is a sole proprietorship owned by Ryan Lee McDaniel and based in Tennessee, United States ("Reaper Man," "we," "us," or "our"). We run reaperman.com (the "Site"). Questions about this policy go to contact@reaperman.com. Please put "Privacy Request" in the subject line.
2. Information We Collect
Arcade high scores
When a game ends, you can choose to add your score to that game's public Top 10 leaderboard. If you do, we collect:
- The display name you type (up to 15 characters). It is shown publicly to everyone who visits the game. Please don't use your real name, email address, phone number, or anything else that identifies you.
- Your score, which game it was for, and the date and time it was submitted.
- A scrambled (hashed) version of your internet (IP) address. We use it only to stop spam and fake scores, for example by limiting how often scores can be sent. We never store your actual IP address, and these records are deleted automatically after about 24 hours.
Each name keeps only its best score per game. We keep up to 200 scores per game and may remove any entry, for example names that break our rules or scores that look fake. Leaderboard data is stored with our service provider Cloudflare in the United States.
Submitting a score is optional. If you skip it, nothing about your game is sent to us.
Information saved on your own device
Some features save small pieces of information in your browser's storage (called "local storage") on your device. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. It includes your last-used player name, your personal best score in a game, your merch cart, saved music cover images so pages load faster, and the details you type into the Horoscope (name, birth date, birth time, birth city and pronouns, all optional except the birth date). The Horoscope does its readings inside your browser and never sends those details to us or anyone else. Press "Forget Me" on the Horoscope page to delete them. You can view and clear it at any time on our Cookie Settings page.
Orders from the merch store
When you buy merchandise, checkout is handled by Shopify and its payment processors. They collect the information needed to complete your order, such as your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (if you provide it), and payment details. We receive your order details so we can fulfill it, but we do not receive or store your full card number. We share the name and shipping address needed to make and ship your order with our print-on-demand and fulfillment partners.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you choose to include, such as an order number or photos. We use it to respond and to keep a record of the conversation.
Email list
Our email signup form isn't connected to an email service yet, so it doesn't collect or store email addresses right now. When it goes live, we will collect your email address to send you news about music, merch drops, arcade updates and our skateboard launch. We will update this policy before that happens, and every email will have an unsubscribe link.
Technical information
Like every website, our Site is delivered by hosting providers (Neocities, which hosts the Site, and Cloudflare, which runs the leaderboard). When your browser requests a page, these providers automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested, and they may keep it in their server logs for security and operation. We do not use analytics tools to track you across visits, and we do not use advertising trackers.
3. Embedded Content From Other Companies
Some pages show content from other companies. When those pages load, your browser connects directly to those companies, which may receive your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies:
- YouTube (Google): music videos on the home page and the video that unlocks each arcade game.
- Spotify: music players, and cover images on our lyrics pages.
- Google Fonts: the lettering used across the Site.
- Shopify: product links and checkout.
- SoundCloud, Audiomack, Deezer and Apple Music: music players on the Reaper Man Network page (/music/network/).
- Everything else on the Reaper Man Network page: posts, players and profile pages from services such as Instagram, Facebook and Threads (Meta), TikTok, X, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitch, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Audius, Mixcloud and the other platforms listed there. These load only after you press a "Show" button for them. Profile pictures on that page are stored on our own Site.
We don't control what these companies collect. See Google's privacy policy, Spotify's privacy policy, and Shopify's privacy policy. Links to our social media pages take you to those platforms, which have their own policies.
5. How We Use Information
- To run the Site and its features, including showing leaderboards and processing orders.
- To prevent spam, cheating, fraud and abuse, and to keep the Site secure.
- To answer your messages and provide customer support.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- With your permission, to send you updates once our email list is live.
7. How Long We Keep Information
- Leaderboard entries: until they are pushed off the list by better scores, removed by us, or removed at your request.
- Scrambled IP records for spam protection: about 24 hours.
- Order records: as long as needed for fulfillment, returns, and tax and accounting rules.
- Emails: as long as needed to handle your request and keep a reasonable record.
- Information on your own device: until you clear it.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- ask us to remove a leaderboard entry. Email us with the game, the name and the score.
- ask what personal information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- clear the information saved on your device on the Cookie Settings page or in your browser settings.
- block or delete third-party cookies in your browser settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. To make a request, email contact@reaperman.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on certain requests. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a request to opt out of selling or sharing, although we don't sell or share personal information in the first place.
9. Children
Many of our games are family-friendly, but the Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Leaderboard names are public display names, so players should never enter their real name or other personal details. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), scrambled IP addresses, limits on how often scores can be sent, and a password-protected admin tool for removing entries. No website is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information, such as card numbers or passwords, by email.
11. Our Future Skateboard Company
Reaper Man is preparing to launch a skateboard brand selling skateboards, decks and related gear. Until it launches, we don't collect any information for it beyond messages you choose to send us. When it launches, skateboard orders will be handled the same way as merch orders described above. We will update this policy, and our Shipping and Returns page, before we start taking skateboard orders.
12. Visitors Outside the United States
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
