How to Play Bone Bounce
A restless skeleton has climbed out of its grave and refuses to stop bouncing. It springs off every slab it touches on its own, so your only job is to steer it left and right onto the next gravestone above. Every metre you climb is a point, and the climb never ends until you miss.
Not every slab can be trusted. Grey stone slabs are solid. Cracked slabs hold for exactly one bounce, then crumble away beneath you. Pale ghost slabs drift from side to side. A small coffin perched on a coiled spring flings you far higher than a normal bounce. Red soul orbs floating between the slabs are worth 25 points each.
The edges of the screen are not walls: run off one side and you come back on the other, which is often the quickest route to a slab. Higher up, bats start sweeping across the sky. A bat will not end your run, but it knocks you downward, so you will need a slab below to catch you. Fall off the bottom of the screen and the skeleton goes back to its grave.
Controls
Touch
- Hold your thumb on the left half of the game to drift left, or the right half to drift right. Let go to fall straight.
- Soft arrows show the two halves for the first few seconds of each run.
Mouse
- Hold the button down on the left or right half of the game to steer that way.
Keyboard
- Left and Right arrows, or A and D, steer the skeleton.
- P or Escape freezes the climb, M toggles the sound effects, and Space or Enter sends a new skeleton up.
Tips and Tricks
- Steer while you are rising, not while you are falling. You have the most time to line up the next slab at the top of each bounce.
- Treat cracked slabs as stepping stones, never as a place to wait. Plan your next landing before you touch one.
- Use the wrap-around edges. A slab on the far left is often closer by running off the right side of the screen.
- Save coffin springs for when the gaps get wide. One spring can skip you past a whole cluster of crumbling slabs.
- When a bat crosses your path at the top of a bounce, drift sideways under it instead of trying to outclimb it.
About the Game
Bone Bounce is an endless jumping game in the Reaper Man Arcade, built for one-handed play in portrait on a phone and easy to pick up with a keyboard on a computer. The graveyard sky slowly fills with faint crosses as you climb, and the skeleton flails its little arms on the way up and kicks its legs on the way down.
The climb starts gentle, with solid slabs close together, then slowly mixes in wider gaps, more cracked stones, drifting ghost slabs and bats. The gaps never grow taller than a normal bounce, so every slab on screen can always be reached. Your record climb stays on this device, and the ten best climbs from every player are listed beside the game.
Bone Bounce FAQ
Is Bone Bounce free?
Completely. Load the page on any phone, tablet or computer and the skeleton is ready to bounce, with no download or account involved.
How do I steer on a phone?
Hold your thumb on the left or right half of the game. The skeleton drifts toward the side you are holding and bounces by itself.
What happens if a bat hits me?
A bat knocks the skeleton downward instead of ending your run. If there is a slab below you, you land and keep climbing.
Why did a slab disappear under me?
Cracked slabs, the darker ones with lines across them, crumble after a single bounce. Make sure you are already aiming for the next slab.
How is my score worked out?
One point per metre climbed, plus 25 for every red soul orb. The browser keeps your highest climb, and a finished climb can be sent to the leaderboard.
