How to Play Epitaph Hunt
Each gravestone in this graveyard hides a set of words carved into a grid of letters. The list of words to find is shown on the stone. Drag across the letters of a word, from its first letter to its last, to mark it.
Words run in straight lines. On the first stones, they go left to right, top to bottom, or on a downward slant. From the third stone they can also slant upward, and from the fourth they can run backward, so you have to look in more directions.
A candle burns beside the stone, and it is your timer. Every word you find adds a few seconds back. Find every word on a stone and you move to the next one with extra time. When the candle burns out, the hunt is over.
Longer words are worth more points, and the number of words on each stone grows from five to nine as you go.

- Press on the first letter of a word and drag to the last letter, then lift your finger.
Mouse
- Click and drag from the first letter to the last.
Keyboard
- Arrow keys move the cursor. Press Space on the first letter, move to the last letter and press Space again. P or Escape pauses, M mutes.
Tips and Tricks
- Scan for unusual letters first. A word with a K, V or Y is much easier to spot than one full of common letters.
- Look for the first two letters together rather than the first letter alone. It cuts down false starts.
- On later stones, check backward words. If you cannot find a word forward, try reading the grid right to left.
- Find the long words while the candle is high. Short words are quicker to pick off when time is low.
