How to Play Bone Bridge

The reaper walks along a row of stone tombs on a cliff edge, and the gaps between them are deep. To cross, you build a bridge out of a single bone. Press and hold to make the bone grow upward. Let go, and it tips over and falls across the gap.

If the bone is long enough to reach the next tomb but not so long that it overshoots it, the reaper walks across safely. If it is too short, or reaches past the far side, the reaper walks off the end and falls into the ravine, and the run is over.

Each tomb has a small red mark in the middle of its top. If the tip of your bone lands on the mark, it is a Perfect, and that crossing is worth double. Perfects in a row build a combo for even more points.

The gaps get wider and the tombs get narrower as you go. After twenty crossings, some tombs start to drift slowly back and forth, so you have to time your release as well as judge the length.

Controls

Touch

  • Press and hold anywhere to grow the bone. Let go to drop it.

Mouse

  • Hold the button to grow, release to drop.

Keyboard

  • Hold Space or Up to grow, let go to drop. P or Escape pauses, M mutes.

Tips and Tricks

  • Count in your head while holding. The bone always grows at the same speed, so the same count gives the same length.
  • Aim for the red mark every time. It is the middle of the tomb, the safest place to land as well as the best scoring one.
  • On a drifting tomb, wait until it is moving toward you or about to turn, so the distance is easier to judge.
  • A slightly long bone is often safer than a short one on wide tombs. On narrow ones, aim exactly.

About the Game

Bone Bridge is a one-button game about judging distance. Every crossing is the same simple action, but the gaps never repeat, and the pressure of a long streak of perfects makes each release a little nerve-racking.

It is set on a cliffside graveyard under a large pale moon with layered hills fading into the dark. It plays well on a phone held upright with one thumb. Your best run is kept in this browser and can go on the Top 10 board.

Bone Bridge FAQ

What counts as a Perfect in Bone Bridge?

The tip of the bone has to land on the small red mark in the middle of the next tomb, within a few pixels.

Does the bone grow faster over time?

No. It always grows at the same speed. The gaps and tomb sizes are what change.

When do tombs start moving?

After you have crossed twenty tombs, some of the next tombs drift slowly from side to side.

Is a long bone safe if it still touches the tomb?

Yes, as long as the tip lands somewhere on the top of the next tomb. Only a tip past its far edge sends you over.
