Bat Gap
Play Bat Gap free online. Tap to flap a little bat through the gaps in crumbling crypt pillars, grab red souls for bonus points and see how far it can glide.
How to Play Bat Gap
A small bat has woken up inside an old crypt and wants to get out. Rows of broken stone pillars stand in its way, each with a single opening. Every tap gives one beat of its wings and lifts it a little. Between taps it glides and sinks, so the whole game is about the rhythm of your taps.
Each pillar the bat slips past is worth one point. Some openings also hold a glowing red soul. Fly through it to collect a bonus point. Touching stone, the ceiling or the floor ends the flight, and one more tap sends the bat straight back to the start.
The crypt is calm at first, with wide openings and a slow drift. Over the first sixty pillars the gaps narrow a little, the pillars come a touch faster, and the openings move further up and down from one to the next. It never becomes a blur, but it does ask for steadier hands.
Controls
Touch
- Each tap on the play area is one flap. Short, light taps work better than holding.
Mouse
- A single click on the play area gives one wingbeat.
Keyboard
- Space or the Up arrow flaps. P or Escape freezes the flight, and M silences it.
Tips and Tricks
- Aim for the middle of each opening rather than the edges. It leaves room for one bad tap.
- Watch the next gap, not the bat. Start rising or sinking early when the opening jumps.
- Let the bat drop for a moment before a low gap instead of tapping it into the top pillar.
- Do not chase every soul. A bonus point is not worth a crash.
- Find a steady beat. Most good runs come from even, relaxed taps.
About the Game
Bat Gap is a one-button flyer with a gothic look. The bat has outlined wings so it stays easy to see against the dark stone, a red moon glows behind the pillars, and each flap makes a soft leathery sound. A round can last a few seconds or several minutes, which makes it a good game for a quick break.
It works just as well on a phone held upright as on a laptop. The farthest the bat has flown is saved on your device, and finished flights can go on the game's Top 10 board.
