How to Play Tomb Recall
Every level opens with a short peek: the whole graveyard turns face up so you can see which spirit is carved behind each tombstone. Memorize what you can, because the stones roll shut and your lantern starts to burn.
Flip two tombstones per turn. If their carvings match, the pair stays open, a soul wisp drifts up into your lantern and a little oil flows back in. If they don't match, both stones close again and the flame loses a second. Clear every pair to move to the next level, where the graveyard grows and the dark gets hungrier.
Each match is worth 100 points, and every match in a row without a miss adds 50 more, up to 350 a pair. Finishing a level pays 10 points for every second of oil left plus a bonus for the level. The run ends the moment the lantern goes out.
Controls
Mouse and touch
- Click or tap a tombstone to flip it.
- Tap the Sound button in the title bar to mute or unmute.
Keyboard
- Arrow keys move the red highlight around the graveyard.
- Enter or Space flips the highlighted tombstone.
- P or Escape pauses the game.
- M mutes or unmutes the sound.
Tips and Tricks
- During the peek, learn the board in chunks, one row or one corner at a time, instead of trying to swallow the whole graveyard at once.
- Flip a stone you have never seen before you gamble on a guess. A wrong pair costs a second of oil and breaks your combo.
- When the first stone of a turn shows a carving you have already seen, go straight to its partner for a sure match.
- Long combos pay the most, so clear the pairs you know back to back before you go exploring.
- From level 6 on the lantern starts shorter and each match refills less, so careful flips beat fast ones.
About the Game
Tomb Recall is a free browser memory game from the Reaper Man Arcade, made for the quiet hour after midnight when the graveyard starts to whisper. Behind every mossy headstone hides one of fifteen carved spirits: skulls, ravens, owls, coffins, hourglasses, potions and more. Your job is to reunite them before your only light dies.
