Triple 6

Single, 2020

Chorus: Reaper Man

I done slit my wrist

And drained my blood

Hang me up to dry

Then put me in the mud

I'm triple six

Yeah I guess I'm a dud

They ain't never showed me love

But I don't give a fuck

I'm dirty like a rug

Buzzing like a bug

They want to lock me up

Cause I'm your local thug

I got the key to the plug

To any kind of drug

Now don't you call me

Only asking for a dub

Verse: M0$$Y

Triple six in the sticks

Yeah that's M0$$Y

If you needing the fix

I got the bricks

Go on call me

Thinking I'm a lick

Don't cross me

Hey a twelve will lay your fucking punk ass down softly

Gorillas that hang with me

They came out from Tennessee

We hang in them haunted woods

We let the banana speak

I'm talking demonic plague

The one you cannot foresee

Big REAPER M0$$Y

We don't want your gold

We want your soul

Cause you reap what you sow

Yeah you reap what you sow

And I be with them witches

Cooking up dope

Snow white potion mixing

You'll be eating biscuits

If you think I'm slipping

This stick that I'm gripping

Have your whole body missing

Chorus: Reaper Man

I done slit my wrist

And drained my blood

Hang me up to dry

Then put me in the mud

I'm triple six

Yeah I guess I'm a dud

They ain't never showed me love

But I don't give a fuck

I'm dirty like a rug

Buzzing like a bug

They want to lock me up

Cause I'm your local thug

I got the key to the plug

To any kind of drug

Now don't you call me

Only asking for a dub

Meaning & Analysis

Triple 6 is Reaper Man at his darkest and most defiant: a song about feeling unloved, written off and pushed to the edge, and answering it with a horrorcore swagger. The chorus opens with violent self-destruction imagery (slit wrists, drained blood, being hung up to dry and put in the mud), then flips into a shrug: nobody ever showed love, so he doesn't care. Calling himself "triple six" and "a dud" owns the bad-guy label other people put on him. M0$$Y's verse takes it into the Tennessee backwoods with "haunted woods", witches and a "demonic plague", and lands the song's core idea in one line: you reap what you sow.

Lyric Annotations

I done slit my wrist / And drained my blood / Hang me up to dry / Then put me in the mud

The chorus opens with horrorcore imagery: a body drained, hung up and buried. It's a picture of feeling completely used up and thrown away.

I'm triple six / Yeah I guess I'm a dud

Six-six-six is the number of the beast. He takes the villain label people put on him and wears it, shrugging that he's a "dud" in their eyes anyway.

Now don't you call me / Only asking for a dub

A "dub" is slang for twenty dollars. He's calling out people who only show up when they want something.

We let the banana speak

A "banana" is slang for a curved banana-clip magazine. Letting it speak means letting the gun do the talking.

We don't want your gold / We want your soul / Cause you reap what you sow

The Reaper doesn't collect money, he collects souls. "You reap what you sow" is an old proverb about consequences, and a play on the Reaper name.
